Women's Cross Country makes debut appearance at Foothills Invitational
Oxford, AL – On Friday, August 30th, the Gulf Coast State College Women's Cross Country team made their debut at the Foothills Invitational in Oxford Alabama, competing in their first 5k meet. The Commodores, a newly formed team, placed 14th out of 20 teams, marking a solid start to their season.
Coach Tom Dever expressed satisfaction with the team's performance, stating, "I believe it was a good opening meet. The majority of the athletes on the team are freshmen, adding an extra layer of challenge as they adapt to collegiate competition. The high temperature probably played a factor, but overall, I'm pleased."
The Commodores were lead with Emily Hull (22:21.40), Bailey Martinek (22:21.45) and Keiley Hickman (22:49.21) placing 92nd, 93rd and 99th place out of 169 participants
Adriana Cruz-Batancourth (23:12.78), Katelynne James (23:13.32), Jaden Farrell (23:39.13), Hannah Da Costa (23:57.41), Madison McMillan (24:17.63), Lemay Sullivan (24:39.67), Coral Ehret (24:50.71), Jaila Hall (28:35.33)
