Basketball season has arrived

Basketball season has arrived

The Men's and Women's Basketball teams are kicking off their 2024-25 season today!

Women's Basketball

The Lady Commodores, ranked #6 in the NJCAA Preseason Poll, will start their season with two away games in Niceville, FL. They'll play DME Academy on Friday, November 1st, at 1 pm, and Central GA Tech at 1 pm on Saturday, November 2nd, at the Raider Arena on the Northwest Florida State campus. Sophomores Alisha Murray and Clara Koulibaly are returning to lead the Lady Commodores this year. Last season, Murray scored 439 points, 63 steals, 34.4 3 PT%, 68.6 FT%, and was named Panhandle Conference Freshman of the Year and All-Panhandle Conference First-Team. Koulibaly also had a great season with a 51.9 FG%, and a 63.1 FT%.

You can catch the Lady Commodores at home next weekend in the Richard Sanders Fall Classic, presented by Visit Panama City Beach! They'll face Andrew College on November 8th at 2 pm and Daytona State on November 9th at 2 pm in the Billy Harrison Fieldhouse.

 

Men's Basketball

Head Coach Lane Below begins his first season leading the Commodores.  The Commodores open their 2024-25 season at home this evening vs. Enterprise State CC at 7pm.  Returning for his second year with the Commodores is Sophomore Christian Harmon.  Harmon finished his freshman year with a FT% of 72.5, and a 31.5 3PT%.

Admission: $5

GC Students and Employees free entry into the event with a valid GC ID.
 
If you are unable to attend tonight's game, the Commodores will be back on the court on Saturday, November 9th at 4pm vs. East Central CC, and Sunday, November 10th at 1pm vs. Copiah-Lincoln CC.
