Lady Commodores return home to host inaugural Panama City Beach JUCO Softball Showdown

After two weeks on the road, the #11 preseason ranked Lady Commodores are coming back to Panama City, FL to host the inaugural Panama City Beach JUCO Softball Showdown at Publix Sports Park from Feb. 7-9. This exciting event will feature 16 top teams from across the country, competing in a round-robin tournament with teams from NJCAA Division I, II, and III.

• Gulf Coast State (#11)
• Chattanooga State (#15)

NJCAA DII:

• St. Johns River (#1)
• Jones College (#4)
• Pearl River (#11)

NJCAA DIII:

• Patrick & Henry (#1)

Lady Commodores off to a strong start

The Lady Commodores have had an impressive start to the season, ranking among the nation's best in several categories:

• 9th in doubles (20)
• 8th in hits (82)
• 7th in home runs (8)
• 5th in stolen bases (21)
• 13th in runs batted in (55)
• Batting average: .313
• Slugging percentage: .496

Standout Players

• AhKeela Honeycutt (Freshman, OF) – 6th in the nation in home runs (3), including a grand slam! She also ranks 14th in RBIs (11) and has a .357 batting average.
• Ainsley Stubbs (Sophomore, P) – Threw her first complete game shutout this week and ranks 9th in innings pitched (22.0) and 12th in strikeouts (22).
• Cailyn Cooke (Sophomore, 3B) – A power hitter with a .382 batting average, 2 home runs, and 14th in RBIs (11).
• Macy Robinette (Sophomore, OF) – 2nd in the nation in stolen bases (8).
