Commodores finish season placing three on the FCSAA All-Tournament team

The Gulf Coast Commodores' basketball season came to an end after a tough battle against #6 seed Pensacola St. in the 2025 FCSAA Region 8 Championship game. The team finished with a strong 23-10 overall record and a 7-5 conference record.
The Commodores had a strong offensive season, averaging 77.3 points per game while shooting 46.1% from the field, 34.9% from three-point range, and 69.7% from the free-throw line. They controlled the boards with 38.9 rebounds per game and shared the ball well, averaging 16.0 assists per game. Their balanced play and teamwork were key factors in their successful season.
In his first year as Head Coach, Lane Below led the Commodores to an impressive season. His 0.697 winning percentage ranks 4th all-time for first-year coaches at Gulf Coast.
Several Commodores players earned top honors for their outstanding performances:
- Christian Harmon was named First Team All-Panhandle Conference, Panhandle Conference Player of the Year, and made the FCSAA All-Tournament Team.
- Truman Claytor earned First Team All-Panhandle Conference and a spot on the FCSAA All-Tournament Team.
- Chip Brunt made the Second Team All-Panhandle Conference and the FCSAA All-Tournament Team.
- Emmanuel James was also honored with Second Team All-Panhandle Conference.
The Commodores showed heart and determination all season long. With a strong first year under Coach Below, the future looks bright for Gulf Coast basketball.
