Commodores earn first win of the 2025 season
The Gulf Coast Commodores started their 2025 baseball season strong with a 10-8 victory over Bishop State last night. The team was on fire at the plate, racking up 17 hits. Bray Touchstone and Brody Langlotz each had three hits, while Jacob Payne, Carrington Aaron, and Jack Reynolds brought in two runs each. Andrew Johnson also had two hits in five at-bats.
The game was full of exciting moments. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Aaron smashed a solo home run to left field. Then, in the seventh inning, Reynolds hit a ground ball that helped tie the game at 8. The Commodores took control in the eighth inning when Collin Lindsey hit a sacrifice fly to bring in a run, and Langlotz followed with a triple, giving Gulf Coast a 10-8 lead.
Pitcher Ben Clenny earned the win, and Ezequiel Rojas secured the save. Several other pitchers—Reese Marcum, Ryan Apaliski, Gage Chandley, Jacob Price, Mitchell Dean, and Preston Andrew—came in to help shut down Bishop State.
