GC Athletics set for full slate of fall action this week

Panama City, FL – Gulf Coast State College Athletics has a busy weekend ahead, with multiple programs competing both at home and on the road.
The Commodore Baseball team will host Northwest Florida State in fall non-conference action on Thursday, October 2, at 2 p.m. at Frazier Field.
Lady Commodore Softball team will host Lurleen B. Wallace on Joe Tom King Field for a home doubleheader on Friday, October 3, with the first pitch scheduled for 12 p.m. and game two to follow at 2 p.m.
Conference play continues for the Lady Commodore Volleyball program inside the Billy Harrison Fieldhouse. Gulf Coast will host St. Petersburg on Thursday, October 2, at 6 p.m., followed by State College of Florida on Friday, October 3, at 6 p.m. The Lady Commodores will close out the weekend with Sophomore Day on Saturday, October 4, as they take on Pasco-Hernando State at 4 p.m (time update).
The Lady Commodore Cross Country team will host the 2025 Gulf Coast Invite on Friday, October 3, at 5:15 p.m. at Majette Park. The meet is set to feature an exciting field with teams from across Florida and Alabama, including Pensacola State, Tallahassee State, Chipola College, Florida Gateway, Enterprise State, Alabama-Brewton, LBW, and Baptist University.
Meanwhile, the Lady Commodore Basketball team opens preseason play this weekend at the DME Jamboree in Daytona Beach. On Saturday, October 4, Gulf Coast will face Florida SouthWestern at 12:30 p.m. EST before squaring off with DME Academy at 3:15 p.m. EST.
The Commodore Men's Basketball team will travel to Atlanta, GA, on Sunday, October 5, to participate in the Corry Black Atlanta JUCO Jamboree. Gulf Coast will take on Snead State at 10:30 a.m. EST, Wake Tech at 1:30 p.m. EST, and finish the day against Brunswick at 3:30 p.m. EST.
It is set to be an action-packed week for Commodore Athletics as teams continue preparing for their upcoming seasons.
